In this page, there will be instructions to set a Riecoin wallet and start receiving and spending coins.
You can download the reference Riecoin Core binaries here↗️. Or, I also host the following binaries (taken from the Github release):
Else, you can also compile the wallet yourself, I wrote a HowTo↗️ for Debian 9 in the community forum. Note that these instructions use an incompatible Bdb version, so using such build with the official one may corrupt your wallet (but using only one will be fine). You can also follow the Gitian documentation for a more formal build that will match the official one (and thus verify yourself that the official one was not tampered).
It is useful (if you want to configure Riecoin Core, know where is the wallet file, or bootstrap the blockchain) to know that your Riecoin data directory is located by default in
When you start Riecoin-Qt for the first time, it should ask you for the data directory, you can choose anything else if you wish. In that directory, the configuration will have to be put in a riecoin.conf file.
Some peers were hardcoded in this version, so there is no need to configure anything if you just want to store, receive and spend coins. Wait 1-2 day(s) to have the wallet fully synced.
To skip the syncing, I provide the blockchain in my site up to Block 1019150 for Riecoin Core 0.16.3. Once downloaded, you can put its content (the folders "blocks" and "chainstate") in the Riecoin folder.
Once the synchronization is done, you can start using Riecoin-Qt to receive and send coins! You can even start mining :D !
Wanting to test without risk? Fine, you can use Testnet! Just use the following configuration file:
testnet = 1 connect = testnet.riecoin-community.com maxtipage = 2147483647
Go to his JsWallet↗️. Move your cursor in the box area during some time, and a wallet will be generated for you. You now have an address to receive and send payments. To keep it, you can bookmark the page, it should look like "https://cryptap.us/ric/jswallet/#0123456789AbCdEFghIJKLmnopQRst" (do not use this one).
You should also backup your private key by clicking on the gear icon, and saving the Private Key given by "Export Private Keys".
Though this wallet is very easy and convenient to use, you should use a full node (Riecoin-Qt) instead if you intend to store important funds.
You are now ready to use Riecoin! Continue reading in Getting Started to learn how you can get your first coins.
